KHYBER PASS STEAM TRAIN SAFARI WITH ANCIENT BUDDHIST KINGDOM OF GANDHARA:
Pakistan Railways is operating a number of steam train safaris to the Historical Khyber
pass areas. Our programme combines the train journey with a detailed jeep safari of the
ancient Buddhist Kingdom of Gandhara which once flourished here. You will visit some of
the most sacred old Buddhist monasteries and stupas as well as museums housing ancient
treasures of Gandhara arts. Inquire about the next departure date for this safari as it is
subject to train operation.
HIMALAYAS AND KARAKORAM AIRSAFARI:
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is operating the most spectacular mountain air
safari to the heart of the rugged Karakorams. The Boing 737 flys over Himalayas passing
the great giant of Nanga Parbat (8126 m) on its way to the jagged peaks of the Karakorams.
Here you will see dozens of world famous mountains including the second highest in the
world K-2 (8611 m) and three other mountains over 8000 m. This airsafari is currently
operating on Tuesdays only and is subject to weather conditions in the mountains. Please
